Before the labels

Many who find themselves in same-sex attraction or practice did not wake up one morning and choose a lifestyle for fun. Behind a large number of stories sit earlier wounds: rejection, confusion about identity, abuse, loneliness, or a home that never felt safe. God’s word does not ignore that pain. He sees the whole person.

This page is not written to heap shame on people who are already carrying enough. It is written because God’s design for male and female is still true, the spiritual cost of stepping outside it is real, and the blood of Jesus Christ is still able to set a person free.

What God’s word actually says

From the beginning God made them male and female, and the two were to become one flesh. That design is not a cultural preference. It is the pattern written into creation itself.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Genesis 1:27

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Genesis 2:24

When men and women exchange the natural use for that which is against nature, God’s word does not call it an alternative identity. It calls it a departure from the truth He already established.

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

Romans 1:26-27

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind... And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

1 Corinthians 6:9, 11

Notice the past tense. “Such were some of you.” The early church already contained people who had walked that road and had been washed clean. The same gospel that reached them still reaches people today.

How the doors often open

Most testimonies of those who later found freedom describe a progression, not a sudden birth. A wound is left unhealed. A lie is believed about identity or worth. A door is opened through trauma, occult involvement, early sexualisation, or repeated yielding to the desire. Over time what began as confusion or experimentation can become a stronghold.

Early wounds

Rejection by a parent, sexual abuse, or a home that never felt safe frequently appears in the background. The enemy is a master at taking real pain and twisting it into a false identity that seems to offer belonging.

Occult and spiritual doors

Many who later came free speak of earlier involvement in witchcraft, New Age practices, fortune-telling, or other occult activity. Those doors do not stay neutral. They invite influence that then attaches to the area of sexuality and identity.

Soul ties and practice

Once the lifestyle is entered, sexual acts create soul ties. What began as a search for love or acceptance becomes a chain. The more the practice is repeated, the stronger the attachment feels and the harder it seems to leave.

The spirit that takes hold

A repeated pattern in deliverance testimonies is the recognition that something more than a “preference” was at work. People describe a presence, a driving force, or a voice that was not their own. When that spirit is confronted in the name of Jesus and the person renounces it, the desire itself often lifts in a way that willpower alone never achieved.

What many later describe

Those who have come out the other side often look back and recognise the same spiritual fruits that appear with other forms of bondage: heaviness, accusation, isolation, and a growing hardness toward the thought that freedom is even possible. The lifestyle is presented as identity and liberation, yet the internal experience for many is torment, emptiness, and a sense of being driven rather than free.

Identity theft

The person is told this is who they are. God’s design is treated as the problem. The real self, made in His image, is buried under a counterfeit label.

Ongoing accusation

Even after the acts stop, the accuser keeps the wound open. “You can never change.” “This is who you will always be.” The blood of Jesus is the only answer that silences that voice.

Further destruction

Left unaddressed, the same open door can pull toward deeper occult involvement, addiction, self-harm, or a settled unbelief that God either cannot or will not help.

The plain truth

Homosexual practice stands outside the design God established at creation. His word is not silent or ambiguous on the matter. At the same time, the same God who spoke those words also sent His Son so that every kind of sinner could be washed, sanctified, and justified. No one is beyond the reach of that blood. The early church already contained people who had been abusers of themselves with mankind, and they were called “washed.” The same power is still available.

There is a way out

Freedom is not found in redefining sin or in pretending the desire is holy. It is found in coming to the cross with honesty, renouncing the lifestyle and any spirit attached to it, and receiving the cleansing and the new identity that only Jesus Christ can give.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

John 8:36

“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

1 Corinthians 6:11

Many who were once fully given to the lifestyle now walk in lasting freedom. The desire itself has been broken. Soul ties have been cut. The accusing voice has been silenced. They did not achieve this by trying harder. They came to Jesus, agreed with His word about the sin, renounced the spiritual claim the enemy had made, and received the new life He purchased with His own blood.

Voices of those set free

These are not theories. They are people who lived the lifestyle, opened the doors, felt the oppression, and were delivered by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Their stories are offered as living proof that freedom is real.

These accounts are not offered as a formula. They are offered as evidence that the same Jesus who washed the Corinthian believers still washes people today. The blood still works. The Spirit still sanctifies. Freedom is not a myth.

The gospel is still open

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. He was buried. He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That offer stands for the one still in the lifestyle, the one who has already left but still feels the pull, and the one who has never known any other way. There is no sin His blood cannot reach, and no identity He cannot replace with His own.
